Aku Tangi Kōrero, Aku Tangi Tikanga Wānanga

We invite experienced kaimahi Māori to participate in this wānanga. This is an accelerated online wānanga: Aku tangi kōrero Aku tangi tikanga e. The aim is to sharpen Kaupapa Māori Best Practice to influence practice implementation across service delivery and the health system. The wānanga will be facilitated by Terri Cassidy & Moe Milne.

Wāhanga Tuatahi: 11 October 2021, 10am – 12pm

Wāhanga Tuarua: 13 October 2021, 10am - 12pm

Wāhanga Tuatoru: 15 October 2021, 10am - 12pm

The wānanga takes a principle-based approach to refine practice and influencing, ‘the objective is clear to see as there are no obstacles to obscure’.

He rangi paihuarere e ari ana te kitea o te maunga; A cloudless sky means the mountain is clearly visible.

We will explore applied practice:

E ari ake ana ngā tohu o te rangatira; Recognise the signs of rangatira

• Tohu rangatira

• Rongo rangatira

• Mahi rangatira

At the end of the wānanga we will be seeking registration of interest from those willing to work with us to make meaningful connections and uplift the mauri of kaimahi Māori across the motu. This will be via an online platform.

To be eligible for this wānanga kaimahi must have:

• 5 plus years' experience and able to attend all three wāhanga

• Come prepared to kōrero about: ‘a good piece of work, something challenging and the qualities of someone they admire.

Numbers are limited to ensure we are able to have intimate conversations and robust kōrero.

Terri Cassidy Ngāti Maniapoto

Terri leads the work programme for Mākohakoha at Te Rau Ora including kaupapa Māori frameworks and Te Oro Tapu, an online resource for kaimahi and whānau. As a co-founder with Paraire Huata of Te Ngaru Learning Systems she had opportunities to revive traditional Māori frameworks of practice and influence the Māori workforce across the health, education, and social service sectors.
